The leading international travel publication, Travel + Leisure annually embarks on a global survey amongst readers to identify the top destinations, hotels, airlines, car rental companies, cruise liners, river cruises, spas and safari outfitters. Following the announcement of the 2012 winners of the coveted Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards; the Victoria & Alfred Hotel stands proud as one of the top 15 most loved luxury hotels in the Africa and Middle East region. Owned and managed by Newmark Hotels, the historical Victoria & Alfred Hotel, which is based in South Africa's mother city - Cape Town; voted 4th on the Travel + Leisure list of Top Cities in the world, has held its own against illustrious competition in the region.
A prestigious notch on the belt of Newmark Hotels, who makes a debut onto the Travel + Leisure Best Awards with the Victoria & Alfred Hotel's nomination this year as one of only five of the finest hotels in Cape Town to make the list. We are exceptionally proud of the fact that the Victoria & Alfred Hotel has outperformed other hotels in our region!"
